Pro-Car Racing Tricks By Mark Kislowski

You must have learned driving properly in your mom’s car, but that’s probably 1% of the driving that car racers know. Whatever you’ve learned is good, but it’s not the way you learn to actually control a vehicle. The best car racers have honed their skills on closed roads and race tracks.

Here are some pro car racing tips and tricks by Mark Kislowski that can help you drive your car smoothly:

1. Don’t focus on the car in front of you – Keeping your eyes glued to the car ahead of you, is a big no-no. It’s totally unsafe. The chances of repeating the same mistake the driver ahead of you are making are more. Taking such decision on the roads in the real world is deadlier.

2. Focus where you want to end up – Hand to eye coordination is really important in car racing. With proper hand-eye coordination, you can adjust your hands and feet over the car staring, break, paddle, wheels, and gas etc. This will help you get your car in the right spot.

1) Treat your team well — It’s one of the most important things that every racer needs to learn. Don’t jump straight and spend your time in budgeting. Spend time with your team. You can do practice sessions with them or you can motivate them during press interviews.

2) Learn what the assists do — We know every assist is not easy to follow. However, tinkering with them can help you learn about tire degradation measures, downforce and many other F1 terms you might never know before.

Exclusive Braking Tips By Mark Kislowski

Learning about car braking techniques is very crucial for car racing. Car brakes serve two purposes.

· Breaks slow the car down.

· Brakes offer a method of adjusting weight and balance from corner entry to the apex.

Car racing is more about braking correctly. In a modified race, you are not only racing against other modified cars but also against the track. You need to tweak your brake bias as well. Sometimes the chassis builder doesn’t take enough time to set up the brake bias correctly. If your brake is dialed into the full rear brake and you still have a front brake, you are going to have a lot of trouble cutting corners. Your car will feel tighter while making corners.

According to Mark Kislowski, “Modified circuit is all about single timed laps. You don’t have to keep worrying about getting hit by your competitor’s bumper. The goal is to keep your head down and turn from the inside, while continue exiting from the outside. However, you need to keep an eye for bumps or ridges while turning on the inside. If your front wheel comes in contact with it at a certain speed, you can lose your car control and lose some speed.”

Mark Kislowski Drives to Fonda Victory

FONDA – For years, the Morris Group pace car has led the way to the green flag for race cars at Fonda Speedway. Saturday night it was the Morris Group modified of Mark Kislowski that led the field to the checkered flag for his first career modified victory at the Track of Champions.

The veteran driver out of Ballston Lake grabbed the lead away from Elmo Reckner six laps into the 30-lap main event and was never seriously challenged as the race went caution free. Also picking up victories Saturday night were David Constantino (sportsman), Ivan Joslin (pro stock), Reuben Kennedy Jr. (street stock) and Ken Hollenbeck and Shaun Rybas won the single and dual cam 4-cylinder features, respectively. Kislowski started three rows deep in the 27-car modified feature and chased down Reckner, the outside pole sitter. Reckner held off Kislowski’s challenges until lap six when Kislowski put his No. 3 in front in turn four.

As Kislowski pulled away, Reckner found himself in a battle for the runner-up spot with Dave Lape, Mike Mahaney, Jim Davis and Ronnie Johnson. Johnson picked his way in the second spot on lap 17 but could not mount a challenge for Kislowski as he hit the checkers a full two-seconds ahead. Johnson was second followed by Davis, Mahaney and Jeff Trombley in the top five.
