Mark Kislowski Talks About Securing First Place In The Sportsman Feature

Mark Kislowski, who is 49 years old, lives in Ballston Lake, NY currently. He is the GM at Morris Auto group. He also offers training and support in the dealer principles and upper management.

Before coming to the modified circuit, he used to be one of the best racers in the Sportsman feature. In an interview with Doug from Doug’s dirt diary, he opened up about his experience in the sportsman feature and how it felt when he secured his first win there.

He continued to talk about the amount of hard work he had to put to win that first place. Coming back after a bad wreck last week, things weren’t looking up. However, he and his team turn things around. They fixed the car and got it to race ready. The win didn’t come easy and Mark Kislowski had to go through some tough corners to secure that first spot.

Mark Kislowski Drives to Fonda Victory

FONDA – For years, the Morris Group pace car has led the way to the green flag for race cars at Fonda Speedway. Saturday night it was the Morris Group modified of Mark Kislowski that led the field to the checkered flag for his first career modified victory at the Track of Champions.

The veteran driver out of Ballston Lake grabbed the lead away from Elmo Reckner six laps into the 30-lap main event and was never seriously challenged as the race went caution free. Also picking up victories Saturday night were David Constantino (sportsman), Ivan Joslin (pro stock), Reuben Kennedy Jr. (street stock) and Ken Hollenbeck and Shaun Rybas won the single and dual cam 4-cylinder features, respectively. Kislowski started three rows deep in the 27-car modified feature and chased down Reckner, the outside pole sitter. Reckner held off Kislowski’s challenges until lap six when Kislowski put his No. 3 in front in turn four.

As Kislowski pulled away, Reckner found himself in a battle for the runner-up spot with Dave Lape, Mike Mahaney, Jim Davis and Ronnie Johnson. Johnson picked his way in the second spot on lap 17 but could not mount a challenge for Kislowski as he hit the checkers a full two-seconds ahead. Johnson was second followed by Davis, Mahaney and Jeff Trombley in the top five.
